Design process
I followed an lean UX design thinking process to ensure my decisions were supported through user research and feedback.
STEP ONE: RESEARCH
User Interviews and Surveys
The quantitative research an online survey of 14 questions was taken by 46 peoples and the following were the findings:
Doesn't take the dog to the park at all but would like to
Aren't familiar with all the parks in their area
Would go more often if they'll know if there are dogs at the park and which dogs
Would like to take the dog to the park more often
will be interested in contacting other dog owners and setting up playdate at the park
Most of the participants will like to be more involve but without joining the local Whatsapp group
Interview Insights
To Make a useful product, I first needed to understand the needs of dog’s owners regarding Dog’s parks, especially in the city.
The quantitative research included an online survey of 14 questions and was taken by 46 people.
- Most respondents would like to take the dog to the park more often.
- Most dog owners were interested in contacting other dog owners but were not interested in joining the neighborhood WhatsApp group.
- People living in the periphery do not go to dog parks because they have open spaces. Therefore, I decided to focus on Cities.
- Most dog owners want to know if there are dogs in the park beforehand.
- More specific if there are any dogs that will play with their dogs or if their aggressive dogs.
- Dog owners recognize the dogs in the neighborhood and not their owners.

STEP FOUR :TESTING
Usability Testing Report
Based on tests and interviews I conducted with 8 dog owners.
70% said they will use the chat function
80% said they will cooperate and update when they arrive at the dog park
80% rated navigation as simple
60% of the users used the option to check other dogs
85% said they would surely try the app
Conclusions for further action
- Encourage engagement with other users
- Add more features while kepping actions as simple as possible
- Check how the app can work with the municipality’s app, for example the Tel Aviv Municipality.
- Put more emphasis on the interaction between the dogs, besties and frenemies
